How is BC Hydro regulated?
The Government of B.C. is responsible for legislation, policies and programs to generate and transmit power that’s reliable, cost effective, clean or renewable. BC Hydro is a Crown corporation, owned by the government and people of British Columbia, and is regulated by the B.C. Utilities Commission (BCUC) under the Utilities Commission Act.

Revenue Requirements Applications
In September 2021 BC Hydro filed a three-year Revenue Requirements Application for Fiscal 2023-2025 with the BCUC, requesting an annual average bill increase of 1.1% for the next three years.
