Surrey Langley SkyTrain

Surrey Langley skytrain graphic

We're working closely with the Surrey Langley SkyTrain Project team to accommodate the extension of SkyTrain into Langley by making modifications to some of our existing power lines and structures along Fraser Highway between 140 Street and 203 Street.

This project will ensure that the lines continue to provide safe and reliable power to residents and businesses in the Lower Mainland and allow for the safe construction of the SkyTrain around the power lines.

What's new

November 2024

This November, duct bank excavation work will progress on Fraser Highway in:

  • Surrey
    • between 64 Avenue and 195A Street
    • at 176 Street (includes night work), and
    • at the Serpentine River Crossing (includes night work)
  • Langley
    • Production Way before 200 Street.

Our crews will also work on existing overhead infrastructure and the installation of new utility poles along Fraser Highway, between 149 Street in Surrey and 196A Street in Langley.

This work includes some detours and temporary traffic pattern changes. Traffic will be reduced to a single lane in each direction at some intersections. Drivers are advised to plan ahead and expect delays.

Sidewalks, bike lanes and bus stops on this route will be impacted and may not be available. Please follow the on-site signage provided by TransLink and the crews.

We're working with the SkyTrain Project team to prepare for the SkyTrain extension into Langley by adjusting some of our existing power lines and structures along Fraser Highway between 140th Street and 203rd Street. Our work will include vegetation clearing and relocating our poles and power lines to align with the SkyTrain extension. As part of this work, distribution power lines and poles will move from the north side of Fraser Highway to the south side.

This work will ensure our infrastructure continues to provide safe and reliable power to residents and businesses and allow for the safe construction of the SkyTrain around the existing power lines.

We'll work on our existing power lines and structures along Fraser Highway between 140th Street and 203rd Street.
