Request your building's aggregated consumption data
If you need aggregated, historical electricity consumption data for your multi-unit residential, strata property, mixed-used building or commercial building, you can request it online.
This data is typically requested for energy efficiency benchmarking purposes or to meet local reporting requirements. Before you begin, make sure you've reviewed our energy efficiency benchmarking information to understand how it works and what its used for.
Use the request form below to:
- Request the code you'll need to set up Energy Star® Portfolio Manager®, which provides automatic, monthly upload of your building’s aggregated usage data, or
- Request a one-time export of your building's aggregated usage data (if you're not eligible for Portfolio Manager).

After you complete the request form below, we'll provide you with the service that's available to your building type.
You'll need:
- BC Hydro account number(s)
- If your building has a common area meter (or "house meter"), we'll need the account number associated with it. That gives us the information we need to pull data for the building.
- If your building includes commercial accounts, we'll also need an account number for any commercial account in the building.
- We don't need account numbers for any other individual accounts in the building.
- A list of street addresses for the building:
- Some corner buildings may have multiple street addresses, so please list all the street addresses for the building.
If you need data for multiple buildings, please submit a separate request for each.
If your building is mixed-use (residential and commercial), please submit one request for the residential accounts and one request for the commercial accounts.
Authorizations you'll need:
Have the authorization form(s) completed and ready to upload before starting your request, if required based on your building type and who's requesting the data.

- We can process most requests within five business days. If the request is more complex it could take longer.
- If your building is eligible for ENERGY STAR Portfolio Manager account, you'll receive your setup code via email.
- If your building is not eligible for Portfolio Manager, you’ll receive a one-time aggregated data export in a .xls format and it will show all the building's available historical data up to the previous 36 months.
- If residential and commercial data were both requested, they'll be in one document with two separate tabs.
- If you need combined numbers for residential and commercial usage, it's your responsibility to combine them.
