We provide a flexible, comprehensive benefit package that allows you to select the coverage that works best for you and your family’s needs.

From your first day with us, you and everyone on your plan will receive:

Benefits and vacation time by role affiliation

Our diverse team is made up a wide variety of roles, both unionized and non-unionized. The basic benefits and paid time off we offer apply to all employees, with some differences depending on the role affiliation and type.

These are managerial and professional positions that are exempt from the union.  

Additonal M&P specific benefits include:  

  • Annual benefit credit valued at 8% of your base salary
  • Annual $750 health credit 
  • Gender affirmation coverage 

Vacation and paid time off

  • Earn 15 paid vacation days per year for the first two years and one additional vacation day every two years after (up to a maximum of 30 paid vacation days).  
  • Option to purchase up to 20 additional days of paid time off using your 8% benefit credit each calendar year. 
  • 13 paid statutory holidays per calendar year. 

Local 378 of the Canadian Office and Professional Employees Union represents administrative and technical support roles that range from clerical to senior financial and technologist positions.

Vacation & paid time off

  • Earn 15 paid vacation days per year for your first eight years and five additional vacation days every eight years after (up to a maximum of 30 paid vacation days after 25 years).
  • 17 shorter work period paid days per calendar year.
  • 13 paid statutory holidays per calendar year.

 

IBEW represents all trades related roles, including our dedicated team of power line technicians who play a vital role in ensuring the reliable delivery of electricity to homes and businesses across B.C.

Vacation & paid time off

  • Earn 15 paid vacation days per year for the first eight years and five additional vacation days every eight years after (up to a maximum of 30 paid vacation days after 25 years).

Work, life, and wellness support

  • Maternity and parental/adoption leave with an employee insurance benefit top-up of 85% of your basic earnings for 17 weeks maternity leave and/or 8 weeks parental/adoption leave
  • Health and wellness programs and resources.
  • Optional self-funded sabbatical leave for six months to one year, as well as other unpaid leaves of absence to support you.
     

Flexible work model

Our flexible work model includes four role types that identify the flexibility to work from home based on the type of work you do:

  • IBEW / Field: No option to work from home
  • Resident: Works at the office at least four days per week
  • Hybrid: May be able to work from home up to three days per week
  • Remote: Works from home at least four days per week

Hybrid and remote employees are welcome to work full-time from the office if they prefer.
 

A secure future with a pension for life

We have a defined benefit pension plan that guarantees your retirement income based on your earnings and years of service. 

In retirement, your pension payments will grow each year with cost-of-living adjustments and will be paid for your lifetime. Plus, a retiree benefit package is also provided if you’ve worked 10 or more years with us when you retire.

You also have the option to contribute to our Group Registered Retirement Savings Plan (RRSP).
