Enroll your Eguana home battery in Peak Saver

Get more from your home's smart devices. When you enroll your eligible devices in our Peak Saver program, you earn rewards for allowing us to remotely adjust them during periods of high electricity demand.

This helps us manage the demand on our system to ensure safe, reliable electricity service across the province.
 

How it works

You'll receive a $50 reward, per winter season for enrolling your Eguana home battery. When you enroll your home battery in Peak Saver, we'll be able to remotely adjust it during "peak time events."

  • During an event, your battery will discharge to power your home circuits. Your battery will never discharge below 20% to ensure there's some energy left. 
  • Events last no more than four consecutive hours. 
  • You'll always maintain full override control of your device. 
  • After an event ends, your device will return to its regular settings and your battery will recharge. 

You can opt out of an event at any time. If you opt out of more than 50% of the events throughout the season, you may not be eligible for the reward. Your reward is applied to your BC Hydro bill at the end of each season.
