John Nunn is a retired professional engineer with over 45 years of Canadian and international experience in hydroelectric and water storage projects. His career included developing, managing and evaluating large construction projects. In 2006 John was the recipient of the Community Service Award from the Engineers and Geoscientists B.C., and in October 2019, he was awarded the Engineers Canada Fellowship for his significant contribution in the profession of engineering.
John has a strong record of volunteer and community service and has held director positions with the Small Talk Society for Developmental Language Disorders in Pre-School Aged Children, the Canadian Progress Club, and the Canadian Progress Charitable foundation, which supports Special Olympics Canada with funding assistance. Currently, John is a Director and past President of the Juan De Fuca Marine Rescue Society. In 2024 John was awarded Supporting Volunteer of the Year by Royal Canadian Marine Search and Rescue.
John is a Life member of the Canadian Dam Association. He has a B.Sc. in Civil Engineering and a M.Sc. in Soil Mechanics and Foundation Engineering from the University of Southampton, UK.
