Surrey Langley SkyTrain

Since 2023, we've worked closely with the Surrey Langley SkyTrain project team to accommodate the extension of the SkyTrain into Langley. This has included the relocation of our existing overhead infrastructure along Fraser Highway to make room for the new SkyTrain guideway. This work is nearing completion.

Next, we're now moving into the energization phase with the power supply project for the new Skytrain stations in Surrey and Langley.

What's new

March 2026

In March, our crews will continue work on overhead infrastructure and utility poles at:

  • 156 Street between 76A Avenue and Fraser Highway, in Surrey.

You may see some detours and temporary traffic pattern changes. Sidewalks, street parking and bus stops on this route will be impacted and may not be available. Please follow the on-site signage from TransLink and the crews.

What we're doing

Our crews have begun the work needed to supply power to the project on Fraser Highway between 140 Street in Surrey and 203 Street in Langley City. We're installing cable that will connect the new stations and related infrastructure to the power system, providing safe and reliable power to the extension project.

Why we're doing it

We're preparing our electrical system to run the future SkyTrain extension with dedicated power from two nearby substations, Fleetwood in Surrey and McLellan in Langley. These improvements will support the reliable and safe operations of the Surrey-Langley SkyTrain.

Where we'll be working

Work is taking place along Fraser Highway in Surrey and Langley, between 140 Street and 203 Street. This includes completing remaining overhead line relocation and starting energization activities near future SkyTrain station areas.

Our power supply work will move along the SkyTrain extension corridor in stages. As work progresses, you may see trucks, crews, and flaggers as needed. Short-term lane closures may be required. We'll communicate these in advance to nearby communities.
